Mass killings are on the rise as well with the U.S. suffering the second most in a single year in 2023. It also witnessed the most mass shootings and the most public mass shootings. The number of victims in 2023 was the third highest on record.

Mass Violence sometimes manifests itself as genocide. In many cases, genocide affects people by causing depression and despair along with death. How could it not? No crime is more human or inhumane than genocide. To date, nearly 170,000,000 people have been murdered in cold-blood by villainous regimes and dictators. Ethnic cleansing became a global concern during the Balkan wars and the genocidal slaughter in Rwanda in the 1990s. Since that time, brash and subtle attempts at annihilation have eradicated and impacted countless lives.

All 10 countries most impacted by terrorism are also involved in an armed conflict. More people died in deadly conflicts across the globe in 2023 than in any of the prior four years, according to the latest available data.

We reject the proliferation of violence in all its forms. And our outrage towards these horrific events is what can lead us to meaningful action. The victories may seem small, but any progress we make must not be abandoned if we are to win back territory from the Enemy.
