David Platt, author of Radical, shares about his experience with evangelism.
We believe the Good News of Jesus Christ is good for everyone. And yet according to the Alliance for the Unreached, 42% of the 8 billion people on earth have no opportunity to hear the Gospel where they live.
Over the last few decades, we’ve witnessed tremendous progress in the translation of the Scriptures into every language. We’ve seen church planters emerging in places previously resistant to the Gospel.
Sharing the Gospel and planting churches is not where the task of the followers of Jesus stops, however. The task of discipleship remains pressing for the Church, with many Christians failing to allow the way of Jesus to affect all aspects of their lives. As just one example, less than half of those attending church regularly read their Bible more than once per week.
How can Christians best propel the Good News forward to those who haven’t heard it? And for those who have, how can we more fully surrender to Christ and his Kingdom in our lives?
